Run 6-19-2007, a long shadow out on the meadow grass

Okay, something weird is going on and I can’t access my website for over a week now.  I’m going to have to open a support ticket at my webhosting company, but to keep me from going insane, I’ve opened up some blogging here.

I ran my goal 5K at Miles for Molly in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday the 16th of June.  It was warm and humid, I couldn’t go as fast as I had hoped for, but still ran the whole time and my fastest ever in 34:28.

This morning after two days of rest from running, I went out and ran 5K distance again.  35:03.  I hadn’t planned on doing that, this is to be an easy recovery week, my 9th week of running again and I plan on using every 3rd week for recovery.  I was scheduled to run 35 minutes, it just happened that as I ran this morning I realized I was getting near the mark of where the out-and-back would work out to a 5K so I began running a bit harder as the run went along.

I need to slow it down Thursday and Saturday though.  Those runs must be completely easy runs.  No going hard at all.

Also make note that I did a 30 minute bike ride Sunday morning.  Goal on my bike rides is tempo.  I need to improve my rate of leg turnover running and I think that I can use bike riding to help teach my legs proper tempo for running.

Had a good upper body workout last evening.  Was setting all sorts of personal bests for reps on various push up forms, chin ups, pull ups, tossing the 21 pound blockweight back and forth between my hands.  I think the blockweight tossing really helped my push up records.
