On Memorial Day, May25th, I hiked up Mount Mansfield with Chantal. I’ve done some hiking before in my life, long long ago before I was a type 1 diabetic I went to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico and backpacked in the Cimmaron Mountains. I’ve always enjoyed walking, although there have been periods of time [...]

I bled my fingers 7 times yesterday. At 5:30 AM I woke up and my blood sugar was 87 mg/dL. I would also test at 8:19 AM, 10:38 AM, 1:53 PM, 3:25 PM, 8:19 PM and 9:30 PM as I got near bedtime. I had one persistent bleeder out of all those, the late morning [...]

I had a couple of good race photos taken of me back at the half-marathon last year. The photographer got me from the side though, I was spotted late. Also he didn’t have the greatest spot to take the photos from, he was back in the stands. The ones taken by the photography company weren’t [...]

Story here

I’m definitely trying to keep my eyes open for photo opportunities. Funny, I saw this today and almost just kept going, then I slapped myself upside the head and said, “Take it!”
Bleah. Nothing inspiring about today’s run, it was just get-em-done miles in temps of 74 degrees with 75% humidity. But I should be somewhat happy, after only running 10 miles in the first 14 days of July, I ran 36 miles over the last 17 days and feel like I’m back on track again.
I recently [...]
